The world is not here to make you happy.
It is here to make you conscious. Eckhart Tolle

Aslan Institute is named after the lion, Aslan, in the Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis.

•  The lion is the symbolic representation of the transcendent, enlightened or resurrected state of consciousness.
•  The lion is a solar symbol of light, power and wisdom and both Christ and Buddha have been referred to as lions.
•  In the Hindu tradition, too, the lion is the symbol of divine energy.

Lion Symbolism

We believe that this state of consciousness is our true state and that all people who embark on the hero/heroine’s journey – that is, the spiritual or inner journey – are capable of attaining full realization of this state. This journey of introspection and desire to reach full self-awareness is, we believe, the quest of life in form. Each journey undertaken in the world is both unique and universal.

We feel privileged to be a part of each unique journey and because it is also universal, to act as advisors pointing out the predictable detours and pitfalls that we know about along the way. All light has a shadow, and traversing the dangerous and rocky terrain of our own dark sides is the way to the light.

To participate in life and in the evolution of consciousness is truly a noble quest. Engaging the process and journey with the help of therapy, psycho-analysis, spiritual direction, physical healing or education requires the heart of a lion, and so the lion also symbolizes the courage of each of us as we accompany one another on the path of life and enlightenment.
