Christina Dee, MA

Christina specializes in helping individuals who desire to improve their self-esteem, people-pleasing tendencies, and anxiety, and want to discover new ways to solve problems within their family system.

Background

My approach to therapy is warm and interactive. You’ll find me using humor a lot; just because therapy is hard work doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! I enjoy getting to know people on a deep level and helping uncover unconscious patterns holding them back. I'm all about getting to the root of a problem, and I will always be honest and direct with you. I offer a holistic approach to therapy and help people gain insight on the developmental experiences that shaped their current belief systems. To me, the biggest compliment is when clients enjoy coming to therapy and feel empowered to heal.

I specialize in working with individuals who desire to improve their self-esteem, move away from people pleasing tendencies, struggle with anxiety, and want to discover new ways to solve problems within their family systems. I offer clinical hypnosis and distance reiki.

As a client centered therapist, I offer a holistic approach to therapy. Your life experiences, spiritual orientations, and all other identities are valued in the work we will do together. Collaboratively, we can work towards the emotional growth you desire. My favorite part of being a therapist is seeing people's joy as they learn to heal themselves. I love working with people who want to improve their self esteem and move away from people pleasing tendencies, have challenging relationships with caregivers, experience anxiety or intrusive thoughts, and hold curiosity about their sexuality.

What is Reiki?
Traditional reiki sessions are done hands on and in person. You will arrive at my office and relax on a reiki (massage) table while I channel the healing energies to you. There is nothing you need to do in order to receive the healing, aside from relaxing as much as you feel comfortable. I offer both virtual/distance and in person/hands on reiki sessions. They each range from 30-60 minutes, including greeting and de-briefing time. I ask that if you are a current therapy client, that you save processing for our future therapy sessions, so that we may focus on reiki during your scheduled time. I received my Usui Holy Fire Reiki Levels I & II attunement from the Minnesota Center for reiki.

How Do I Use Reiki In Therapy?
I use distance reiki healing in therapy sessions, at client’s request. There is nothing you need to do or worry about. As long as you have the intention to receive the healing, it will happen. I channel the reiki either while client’s are speaking and therapy continues as normal, or we can set aside specific and intentional reiki meditation and grounding time at the beginning or end of a session.

How is clinical hypnosis used in therapy?
I use clinical hypnosis in therapy to help you better connect with the most healed version of yourself. We will begin with a conversation about what you would like to feel more of in your life, who you want to be, how to fully embody that, etc. I will then administer hypnosis and guide you through visualization paired with uplifting statements that will help you believe you can embody that version of yourself. I received Level 1 Clinical Hypnosis training from the Minnesota Society for Clinical Hypnosis
