Evolution of Consciousness II: The Practices

In this workshop you will dive deeply into some of the specific practices and experiences that help to support the ongoing awakening of the true Self within each of us – the Self that is free of fear, alive with love and creativity and desires to be of real service to the world. We will explore how to transcend the mundane ego functioning of habitual patterns of defense, leave behind anxiety and shame, guilt and anger and live a life of expanded consciousness, light and freedom, compassion and wisdom. We will give you an overview of stages and states of consciousness and focus on the mind, body, spirit practices that facilitate transcending ego functioning.

Midwifing Death

In a culture that is death phobic the notion of midwifing death is novel. We prepare for birth with many preparations, rituals and intentions. A midwife is a facilitator of transition. It is possible to prepare for death in the same way as we do for the birth of a child. Join us in exploring transformative approaches for being with dying. Learn about the stages of physical death, as well as the energetic and transformational signposts along the way. Learn skills and spiritual practices for easing the transition of death, and the use of ritual and specific practices to be used at the time of death and after.

Meditation Retreats

Our Half-day Mindfulness Meditation Retreats feature both sitting and walking meditation, as well an instructional, supportive teaching and discussion about meditation and contemplative spiritual practice. You'll also have the option to meet one-on-one with an experienced meditation teacher for support and guidance. All are welcome to these brief immersions in a meditative setting. No previous meditation experience required; meditators of all levels and all faith traditions are invited. Beginners are especially encouraged to attend. Creative Mindfulness Series

Mindfulness is a fundamental component of creativity and meditation practice as well as being widely recognized in the psychological community as an excellent tool for alleviating stress and all the problems that accompany it. We will talk about creativity as a natural outpouring of mindfulness and mindfulness as essential to cultivating a creative life. Each week there will be a teaching followed by a practical application and experience of mindfulness. This series will help us develop creative day-to-day mindfulness practices so that we more deeply experience and enjoy our precious and fleeting lives.

The Mythic Journey: Retreat in England

Join us on our next adventure! We will be travelling to London and a beautiful part of the English countryside for 12 days of deep inner work through the study of the mythic writings of C.S. Lewis and J.R. Tolkien, and more peripherally, Lewis Carroll and the epic Doctor Who series. All great mythic storytelling follows the same life cycle journey outlined by Joseph Campbell in The Hero’s Journey, and you will be encouraged to see and explore your own life as this mythic journey as a way of gaining deeper and more profound awareness of yourself.
