2020 Retreats: The Call of the Mountains

We’re offering FOUR retreat opportunities in 2020 with the theme “The Call of the Mountains.” We’ll use the symbol of the mountains and how they speak to all of us, and to all the mystics of all time. These experiences are for all those who want the external beauty and adventure and are up for the hard work of the inner journey at the same time. We know that it is not possible for most people to do everything, so we are offering four retreats to try to accommodate everyone that wants to have one of these amazing experiences:

1.) International: Avila, Spain, April 4 –16, 2020, Cost – $4495
2.) National: Seven Circles Retreat Center, CA, May 7–12, 2020, Cost – $1995
3.) Local: Eagle Ridge Resort near Lutsen, MN, September 3–8, 2020, Cost – $1995
4.) International: Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa, October 23-Nov. 5, 2020, Cost – $5495

2020 will be a big year for Sacred Service at Aslan Institute!

We’re offering FOUR retreat opportunities with the theme, “The Call of the Mountains.” We’ll use the symbol of the mountains and how they speak to all of us, and to all the mystics of all time. Like the desert, they call us, they reveal secrets of life to us, and they inspire us. These experiences are for all those who want external beauty and adventure and are up for the hard work of the inner journey at the same time.

We want to let you all know of the retreat and pilgrimage offerings next year so that you can plan accordingly. We know that it is not possible for most people to do everything. So we are offering four retreats to try to accommodate everyone that wants to have one of these amazing experiences. However, if anyone signs on for one of these offerings, they will be included in all the teachings for all these retreats throughout the year.

We are heading back to Avila, Spain for Holy Week, April 4-16, 2020 to do a repeat of last year’s fantastically successful retreat. This powerful and immersive two weeks puts you in the beautiful cities of Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca and Avila.
The teachings of St. Theresa of Avila guide us into ourselves, to cultivate deeper wisdom and compassion for ourselves and others. Staying in the walled city of Avila supports our contemplative inner journey. Each day we will engage in the deep spiritual practices of mindful living, meditation, kundalini yoga, journaling and Tonglen compassion group work.

Our second 2020 retreat is at Seven Circles Retreat Center, CA, USA, May 7–12, 2020.

What gets in the way of you honoring and respecting your own body is the same as what gets in the way of honoring and revering the earth. What you do to pollute your own body is how mindless you will be about the pollution of our planet. We will be diving deeply into the blockages and splits in mind, emotion and spirit that hinder the optimal functioning and flow of the body. Be prepared to work on nutrition, exercise, sexuality through Kundalini Yoga, meditation, group processing and ritual as well as having silent alone time for contemplation in nature. We will also study esoteric meaning of the number 7 and what Seven Circles might mean to you in your service to the world.

“My experience at this retreat included fun, sightseeing, a genuine connection with others, and a deeper sense of awareness for myself. I would recommend this type of experience to anyone looking for a deeper understanding of their own story.”

“I recently went on pilgrimage to England with Sacred Service at Aslan Institute. The experience was life changing for me. I will forever cherish the depth, connection, and sense of community that was experienced in our two weeks in England. This pilgrimage was a time of immense inner growth and deeper self-understanding. The environment that Charisse, Lyndall and Eloise created always felt safe and welcoming to everyone. You can really tell how committed these three are to creating an expansive, loving, and fun experience for everyone involved. They put so much thought into the pilgrimage. There were 16 teachings that were sent out for pilgrims to study prior to leaving. All of them incredibly insightful and helping to provide greater inner awareness and depth. While in England, we had several days of guided tours in various cities and towns in England, as well as days where we could roam around and experience villages and towns for ourselves. There were also days where we had lots of down time for introspection and relaxation. I am deeply grateful for the amount of depth and guidance that was provided on this pilgrimage, and am looking forward to the next one!”

“Aslan Institute/Sacred Service Retreats encompass deeply inter and intra personal work, held within an inspiring and evoking unique socio-cultural/mind-body-spirit context.  The extensive Tonglen therapy sessions offered each evening during the entirety of the retreats, penetrate beyond the surface of personal storyline, moving ever downward into the depths of childhood trauma; often holding our present lives hostage in its shadow.  This work profoundly facilitates the integration of the shadow aspects of our selves and the present truth of our lives into the blossoming light of its fullest potential. Lyndall, Charisse and Eloise lovingly and expertly facilitate the opening of inner gateways, where we might begin to access our own potential to peel back the layers of  illusions created by our defenses, often holding hostage the truths we feel are desperately calling out to us for their liberation; our liberation. It is in this new found freedom that we may begin our journey home, where we might commence to nurture an authentic, compassionate and loving relationship with ourselves and consequently with others. This work reunites us with our loving Soul, melting away the inner and outer walls of judgement and the barriers of ‘other’ held within. This work is deeply embodied knowing of what it is to be in Oneness.”
